River Dee and station platform
River Dee and station platform
The river Dee and a corner of the then derelict station platform at Llangollen seen from the bridge. The former GWR standard gauge route between Ruabon and Barmouth had been closed to passengers in 1965 then freight in 1968 and the tracks lifted shortly afterwards. From 1975 onwards the route between Llangollen and Corwen has gradually been restored as a heritage railway.
