One of two remaining-Cheltenham, Glos
Once there were seven railway stations in the Cheltenham area, now only two remain this, formerly Cheltenham Lansdown and the re-opened station serving the Cheltenham Racecourse, situated to the north of the town. This station was built 1840-41 to the design of Samuel Whitfield Daukes for the Birmingham and Gloucester Railway Company. Nowadays the station, with links to other towns and cities such as Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London is owned and run by First Great Western.
