Bateman's Mill and Well
Bateman's Mill and Well
The mill at Bateman's was driven by a water wheel. During the tenancy by Rudyard Kipling the mill became obsolete and was decommissioned. The water feed for the mill was converted into a turbine feed to provide an electrical supply for the house. A new mill wheel has been installed and the mill can now operate to demonstrate the grinding of corn. Refer to picture TQ6723 : Bateman's Water Turbine for a view of the water turbine.
