Great Western power on the NYMR
Ex GWR 28xx class number 2807 making a guest appearance on the North York Moors Railway. This engine, once used to pull heavy freight dates back to 1905, and is a very early Churchward design. Built in Swindon, she had a lengthy career and was not withdrawn until 1963, ending up in Dai Woodham's scrap yard in Barry where she festered for several years before being bought and restored by another GWR - the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway. The engine has been running again since 2010. Seen here just south of Newbridge level crossing heading into Pickering Station.
