Guildhall, Market Place, Derby
Guildhall, Market Place, Derby
Built by Matthew Habershon, 1828, but its present appearance owing much to a post-fire remodelling by Duesbury & Lee in 1842. They are also responsible for the tower which adds a necessary focal point but does not sit entirely satisfactorily with the main block. Grade II listed.
Now used as a theatre and art gallery.
In front is the war memorial (SK3536 : Derby War Memorial).
