Community names on the Kelsae Stane
Families and individuals from a 10km radius of Kelso were invited to trace the names of their towns, villages and farms on the Kelsae Stane, which were then permanently carved on the four faces of the 20 tonne basalt block. The Kelsae Stane by the sculptor Jake Harvey is the first piece of public art to be installed in the town square for 300 years. For a wider view of the sculpture, see NT7233 : The Kelsae Stane.
