SE0338 : Oakworth station, KWVR

Oakworth station, KWVR
Oakworth station, KWVR
Oakworth station on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, displaying a lot less paraphernalia than in later years although, sadly, the gloriously wonky telegraph pole has disappeared since this photo was taken. The station dates from 1867, is grade II listed and featured highly in the 1970 film 'The Railway Children'.

The KWVR is a standard gauge heritage railway, running between Keighley and Oxenhope, opened in 1968 on the former BR Worth Valley branch line which was closed in 1962.
