The former Primitive Methodist Chapel, Low Hill
The former Primitive Methodist Chapel, Low Hill
This chapel cost 500 to build in 1874. People from Low Hill, Moorside, Low Springs and Sconce worshipped here. In its heyday it held very popular fund raising concerts and was noted for the large attendances at open air services. As the population fell, so did attendances, until the congregation was less than ten. The chapel closed in 1917 and was sold for 320, becoming a tearoom for some time. It is now a private house. Information from The Lost Hamlets of Baildon Moor Walk, in the Baildon Heritage Trails series.
