Raised Beach and Old Crane
Raised Beach and Old Crane
The rubbly material in the foreground is part of the remains of a raised beach which was formed when the sea level here was higher than it is now. Beyond it is one of the cranes used by the quarrymen to lower blocks of stone into waiting boats below the cliffs.
