Introducing 'Bill'
Introducing 'Bill'
Following the sad news that an outbreak of squirrelpox, in June/July 2014, had wiped out most of the colony of red squirrels at Forest How (13 known casualties), my visits at the beginning and end of September revealed that five squirrels, all born in 2014, had survived the outbreak.

'Bill' looks virtually identical to 'Ben', except that he has yet to start growing his winter ear-tufts; they are probably brothers. Coming out of Foresthow Wood, he has been seen since late August. He is not overly keen on humans, or other squirrels for that matter!
