The former Sleights Sidings East signal box
The former Sleights Sidings East signal box
The Midland Railway signal box from near Pinxton, Derbyshire, was moved to Bolton Abbey in early 2008 and erected at the east end of the station platform where the original station signal box once stood. (See SE0653 : Down train of tank wagons at Bolton Abbey Station for a 1961 view in which the original box is partly visible.) This box is being restored, and will eventually be open to the public to demonstrate how manual signal boxes worked.
The box can be seen at its original location in SK4554 : Pinxton - Sleights East Signal Box
