NO1494 : Slugain native woodland regeneration
"The Slugain Glen is a popular access route in the Cairngorms National Park with the Slugain burn forming an important tributary of the River Dee.
The expansion of native woodlands in the area forms a link between the remnants of mature Birches in the west and the main forestry in the East with new riparian woodland created along the burn edges.
This, in time, will produce a new habitat for priority species such as Capercaillie, Black Grouse and Red Squirrel and contributing to both local and national targets for native and riparian woodlands."
