Entrance to Upsall Castle
Reputedly demolished in the Civil War, and in ruins in 1660, the castle was replaced by a 17th century manor house which was replaced by the present house in the 19th century. This building was, in turn, destroyed by fire in 1918 and rebuilt in 1922. Quite a history.
