Church Street, Wirksworth, Derbys
A row of almshouses that were endowed by Anthony Gell, a wealthy local lead merchant, in 1584. Their front elevation and small gardens look out onto the circular path that encompasses St Mary's Church graveyard. The graveyard's boundary railings are just visible. Also visible is a small curved section of the boundary wall that surrounds the former grammar school that was funded by Gell in 1576.
