Very basic foot crossing south of Gonalston
Here, a footpath crosses the Nottingham to Lincoln railway line between Lowdham and Thurgarton stations by the most basic means I have seen. One crosses the stile, then simply ascends the slight embankment to walk across the tracks to the other side; there is no crossing as such and therefore no decking to bring the path up to rail level, so one must step over each rail. Thankfully, the line is dead straight, so approaching trains are very easy to see.
