Built 1185 in what must have been a lonely and remote spot by the River Idle. Housed 6 canons of the Order of St. Gilbert of Sempringham , and 10 lay brethren to cultivate the fields. Destroyed by fire 1279. and finally demolished with the monastic dissolution 1538.
