Settle Signal Box - an interior view
Settle Signal Box - an interior view
The inside of Settle Signal Box, showing the 20 lever Midland Railway 'frame', the block instruments, track diagram, etc.
This box is preserved by the Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Railway, and is open to the public, usually at weekends. (I am grateful to FoSCR members for allowing me a look on a weekday, as I couldn't make a weekend opening.) For comparison have a look at TL1506 : St Albans South signal box - interior after restoration, a rather larger preserved box 215 miles further south!
