NO7053 : Fault in the Cliff

Fault in the Cliff
Fault in the Cliff
My aim this day was to see how far I could get on sand at the north end of Lunan Bay. This was the furthest point; the sand came to an end, and the shore continued as a rock platform a couple of metres above the level of the sand. Not wanting to get cut off, as it would have been a very long walk back and I had no shoes, I turned back here. This gully rises from the last patch of sand. It looks as if it could be a fault in the lava flows that make up the cliffs.
