SD1791 : Cleft at disused copper mine, Logan Beck

taken 9 years ago, 3 km from Ulpha, Cumbria, England

Cleft at disused copper mine, Logan Beck
This seems to be the most northerly excavation and is in the form of a rectangular cleft in the rock. It doesn't seem particularly deep but a closer inspection was not undertaken. The wooden beam appears to have some very weathered rope - presumably some modern-day mine explorers have been active here in the past using the rig to haul spoil out? SD1791 : Gated level, disused copper mine workings, Logan Beck would seem to be modern.
