Telephone tapping points have a socket for connecting field telephones to the military telephone network. This one is located on the verge of the Military Road, not far from New Bridge.
It may seem somewhat unusual to find a cable and an electric plug in such a remote location, but let's not forget that we are in a live military firing range !
