Tinsley railway station (site), Yorkshire
Tinsley railway station (site), Yorkshire
Opened in 1869 by the South Yorkshire Railway, soon to become part of the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway, on the line from Sheffield Victoria to Rotherham, this station closed in 1951.
View north from the Sheffield Road bridge. The station had two platforms immediately below the bridge to the right, but all traces have been removed. The original line to Barnsley is now the tramline, curving left. A later connection towards Rotherham curves right.
