An Apache helicopter in the Pass of Dunmail Raise
An Apache helicopter in the Pass of Dunmail Raise
This aircraft was leading two Chinook helicopters in what appeared to be a Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) formation exercise with the Apache providing cover to pick up a casualty in the field. The Apache is a twin-engine attack helicopter used by the British Army Air Corps. I was very pleased to catch this on camera during a plane spotting day. For a view of the Chinook helicopters, see NY3211 : A Chinook helicopter in the Pass of Dunmail Raise and NY3211 : A Chinook helicopter (Bravo November) in the Pass of Dunmail Raise.
