The Market Place, Blandford Forum
The Market Place, Blandford Forum
The original market place and a lot of the town was destroyed in the fire of 1731. Two brothers, William and John Bastard, local architect surveyors, set about planning a rebuild and this is the result - a beautiful Georgian town centre.
The grey building is the Corn Exchange and houses the Town Hall. The church is the Church of SS Peter and Paul opened for worship on 8th April 1739.
