Maidstone East Station
Maidstone East Station
The eastbound platform viewed from the covered walkway leading down from the ticket hall to the London bound platform. The station was opened by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway on 1st June 1874. There have been plans to rebuild the station off and on since 2005. A new proposal to regenerate the station and surrounding area is currently at the consultation stage (2015).

The train is formed of a class 465 'Networker' unit which has arrived from London and terminated here due to engineering works further down the line (hence the tail lights rather than head lights).
