Off-road cycle route crossroads near the Stubby Copse Inclosure, New Forest
This part of the New Forest, to the NE of Brockenhurst, consists of many square kilometres of ancient woodland and more modern plantations. The many paths through the trees are liable to become very boggy after only a little rain, and a network of them have been improved and given a gravel surface to withstand the pressure from off-road cyclists (mostly holidaying families staying at the nearby large Forestry Commission campsites).
