This dilapidated C19th cast-iron footbridge spans the river Witham opposite “The Engine Shed” entertainment venue, used by the city’s university students. It previously linked Brayford Wharf East (< road name) with Brayford Wharf and it is one of the last remaining pieces of Lincoln's industrial history that provided access across the river to the warehouses in the dock area when these were active, pre-1968. Many individuals and some Council members are reluctant to see the bridge demolished and there have been protracted discussions about how best to deal with this relic.
