NS8611 : Pole for a tunnel trap

taken 9 years ago, near to Wanlockhead, Dumfries And Galloway, Scotland

Pole for a tunnel trap
Pole for a tunnel trap
A common sight on grouse moors, these poles are fitted with mesh tunnels with a trap inside, so that stoats, weasels and other small mammals which prey on grouse become trapped. Happily, this one wasn't in use.
