South Ruislip railway and Underground station, Greater London
South Ruislip railway and Underground station, Greater London
Opened as Northolt Junction in 1908 by the Great Western and Great Central Joint Railway on what is today the line from London Marylebone to High Wycombe. The station was renamed South Ruislip in 1942 and rebuilt in 1948 to cater for the arrival of the Central Line of London Underground.
View south east towards the main line junction and London: Paddington to the right, Marylebone to the left. Behind the red fence to the right is the Central Line platform. Like 55% of the London Underground network, this part is actually overground.
