Dowstone Clough
Water that fell as rain or snow on Bleaklow flows down Dowstone Clough on its journey Liverpool and the Irish Sea, firstly it joins Yellowstacks Brook this in turn runs into Shelf Brook as this joins Hurst Brook it becomes Glossop Brook, it is first called a river when it reaches the River Etherow at Brookfield, the River Goyt is the next river our water will travel down it will eventually meet the River Tame at Stockport and become the River Mersey the last change of name before meeting the sea at Liverpool.
