The date carved on the stone is 1828. I don't know what the accompanying initials (ISB) stand for. "The Grouse and Trout" opened as a public house in 1852. It was closed to protect local grouse moors in 1913 and finally demolished in 1934. The stone is the only physical reminder of the pub's existence apart from some historical photographs - for example LinkExternal link
