Salt's Spa, Purton Stoke
The spa’s heyday was between 1859 and 1870. It was never a true spa – there was no social life surrounding it, only an octagonal pump-room over the well, and a manager’s house (Spa House beside the well). The water was described as having scarcely any odour or taste. The Spa waters were bottled and sent to all parts of the country between 1869 and 1952.
