Railings on the edge of the chalk pit in Lesnes Abbey Woods
The chalk pit in Lesnes Abbey Woods is designated as part of the Site of Special Scientific Interest on account of the fossils from the Tertiary period found here, mainly sharks' teeth and sea shells. The railings here look slightly incongruous as there is just one section like this. They actually came from Welling where they stood outside Embassy Court in Welling High Street. They were surplus to requirements when Embassy Court was demolished and a Tesco built on the site. Bexley Council then relocated them here.

The view of the chalk pit beyond the railings can be seen at Link
