St Barnabas, Gunness
On the west front of the church and under the left-hand window is this stone. The stone commemorates an earlier church, of which there are small remains; though not on this site. This earlier church became unsafe and was demolished in 1937. The upper floor of the Rectory was used as a church for awhile and later on Stanley House. In 1952 this new church was built and there is a stone under the right-hand window to commemorate it.
