SN6090 : Sunken forest and multi-coloured boulders, Borth

taken 3 years ago, near to Borth, Ceredigion/Sir Ceredigion, Great Britain

Sunken forest and multi-coloured boulders, Borth
Sunken forest and multi-coloured boulders, Borth
The huge piles of coloured boulders between the beach and the shingle bank are the new groynes which are phase two of the sea defence scheme. Although they have been brought in from Welsh quarries (as opposed to the Norwegian rocks used for phase one), the different colours appear most incongruous and may well defy the effects of weathering over the next few years. A few early stumps from the sunken forest can be seen in the foreground.
