The Wales Coast Path heading inland in Porthcawl
The Wales Coast Path heading inland in Porthcawl
A view towards the eastern end of a detour inland of about one kilometre which the Coast Path makes in Porthcawl. The detour takes the path away from the western half of Sandy Bay, above which the town’s funfair is situated.

Here, towards the eastern end of the detour, the path passes through an area of undeveloped land which was once occupied by a large caravan site. The road to the right of the path is one of several which were a part of that site but which now see no use.

A smaller caravan/camp site has been established on some of the land quite recently, and (as can be seen) lies immediately to the left (west) of the path.
