Prince of Wales quarry beam engine
Prince of Wales quarry beam engine
The Prince of Wales quarry is unusual as it was worked with a beam engine. Most beam engines in Cornwall were used for deep mining; pumping water, lowering men and removing material. This beam engine, restored in 1976, was used to drive a wire ropeway to move slate around the quarry.
