Hanthorpe verges near Bourne, Lincolnshire
The one-mile stretch of roadside verges to the west of Hanthorpe village has been declared an official nature reserve, a protected environment because the grassland is rich in wild flowers including early purple orchids, cowslips, primroses and even false oxlips and the drivers of vehicles, particularly heavy lorries, are asked not to park there to avoid unnecessary damage.
