Roman Bridge over the River Goyt
Roman Bridge over the River Goyt
This elegant old packhorse bridge was known for a very long time as Windy Bottom Bridge. The farm to the east of here is still called Windy Bottom Farm. It has absolutely nothing to do with Romans. The name change was a Victorian affectation.
