Idridgehay Station
Idridgehay is an intermediate station on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. There are a number of interesting features: the traditional LMS-style sign is a reminder that the station was originally closed to passengers in 1947 before British Railways took over. The line, however, continued to be used for quarry traffic until 1989 and in 1982 BR research installed experimental solar panels to power the level crossing lights - these can be seen on the right.
