On Promenade, the Neptune Fountain was built in 1893 and designed by Joseph Hall. It is probably modelled on the Trevi Fountain in Rome and was carved by local firm Boulton & Sons. Neptune, the Roman god of the sea, is shown with sea horses and a triton.
