Clasts in Diamictite
Clasts in Diamictite
This rock is a diamictite, that is, it was deposited by a melting glacier. It contains clasts, or pebbles and cobbles, of varying sizes. During lithification some of these have acquired quartz rims, and some of them have been cracked and the cracks are also filled with quartz. 50p coin for scale.
