SU9989 : Chiltern Main Line: West of Gerrards Cross

taken 9 years ago, near to Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, England

Chiltern Main Line: West of Gerrards Cross
Chiltern Main Line: West of Gerrards Cross
The Chiltern Main Line through here, about 500 metres west of Gerrards Cross, was originally completed in 1906 as part of the Great Western and Great Central Joint Railway. The railway runs through deep cuttings along much of this part of the route. The siding on the right is for stabling trains that terminate at, or start from, Gerrards Cross station. Please compare this image with Andrew's SU9989 : Railway at Gerrard's Cross from 2006 when the siding appeared to be comparatively new.
