Recovered aircraft engines
Three of originally four engines and some other remains belonging to one of the 95th Bomb Group's B-17G Flying Fortress bomber aircraft (named "Junior"), which had crashed in Holland - the crew had bailed out, and after being taken prisoner returned to the US after the war - have recently found a new home at the 95th Bomb Group Hospital Museum > Link. The museum is situated at Shingle Hill Corner near Horham, on the former Sick quarters site. It is a completely restored airfield hospital dating from WW2, when the 95th BG (USAAF) was stationed at nearby RAF Horham.
RAF Horham (USAAF Station 119)

RAF Horham is located to the south-east of Eye and straddles the parishes of Denham, Horham, Redlingfield and Hoxne. Built for the Royal Air Force (RAF) it was one of the earliest heavy bomber bases opened in East Anglia. In 1942, the base was handed over to the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) and designated Station 119. The aerodrome's history and a number of original buildings are preserved at two local museums - the 95th Bomb Group Hospital Museum > LinkExternal link and the nearby 95th Bomb Group Museum > LinkExternal link.
