The GPS told me that I was just in square on the headland here. The nearer islands are in square, and the masonry on the largest of them was part of a pulley system for loading puffers with paving stones stone quarried from the Knocksoghey dolerite sill just south of the headland. The larger island to the left is Sheep Island, and there is a glimpse of the Hebridean island of Islay in the distance.
