This bridge is next to Stamford Road, south of Careby. It carries the East Coast Main Line.

The Great Northern Railway from Shaftholme in Yorkshire to King's Cross was completed in 1850. This is on the section between Little Bytham and Essendine where Mallard achieved a world record speed for a steam locomotive of 126 miles per hour on 3rd July 1938 on the descent of Stoke Bank.
