TF0997 : Old railway signs
near to Holton le Moor, Lincolnshire, Great Britain

Old railway signs
The larger one to the right of the doorway amused me when I saw what it said, namely "Any person who omits to shut and fasten this gate is liable to a penalty not exceeding forty shillings".
A door could be said to be a kind of "gate", and it isn't shut so that means the owner should fine his or herself!! 40 shillings then - £4000 in today's prices possibly.
