Tomb of Sir Edward Carr, 1st Baronet of Sleaford born 1580, died 1st October 1618. He was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Carre, husband of Katherine Boll and Anne Dyer, and brother of Sir William Carre and Ann Legard. He married Katherine Boll, with whom he had no issue, and Anne Dyer, with whom he had two sons, Sir Rochester Carre, 5th (and last) Baronet and Sir Robert Carr, 2nd Baronet.
The family of Dyer was one of considerable antiquity and influence. Sir Richard Dyer, knt. one of the gentlemen of the privy chamber to James I. son of Laurence Dyer, esq. and grandnephew and heir of Sir James Dyer, knt. chief-justice of the Court of Common Pleas, married Maria, daughter of Sir William Fitzwilliam, knt. some time lord deputy of Ireland, and by her, who d. in 1601, he left at his decease in 1605, with other issue, a daughter, Anne, m. to this Sir Edward Carre, knt. and a son.
