St Peter's Church
St Peter's Church
Church originally established in the 7th century by a sailor adrift on a raft who vowed to build a church where he landed. He landed on the Isle of Chester and kept his vow. The nearby River Gowy was in those days a tidal estuary at this point the only high land being the Isle on which the church is built.
