Pre-fab housing - Furnace (Argyll & Bute)
According to a local resident, these are "pre-fab" houses with a timber cladding applied. "Pre-fabs" were built in huge numbers after World War II in order to alleviate a chronic housing shortage. Intended as a short-term solution, most are long gone - but isolated examples still survive.
