The west window, the Almshouses Chapel
The Almshouses were completed in 1863 and included an integral chapel in the centre. In 1982 the individual dwellings were brought up to modern standards and re-opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The west window is older than the chapel and is the work of Thomas Willement. It originally served as the Great East Window of Faversham Parish Church, but was discarded in 1911. The Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Child are flanked by St. Peter and St. Paul.
